A week off--and the giveaway ends #Sundayblogs #BloggersBlast

Meme hosted by Kimberley of Caffeinated Book Reviews

Hello everyone! I hope you had a nice week. We did here. What went on? Not much, really. I think my brain still had some recharging to do after releasing my newest book Frigga's Lost Army. But I managed to get some blog guest posts out, so that's something, right?

Plus, I got a little sidetracked researching mythology, so I've been reading more than...well, blogging.

In recent news, my giveaway of the LADY OF THE TAROT audiobook has ended and....I had trouble with the rafflecopter. First, it tried to end the giveaway three days ago  *smacks*. Luckily, I reset it with no trouble (note to self for the next time this happens). But when I went to pick the winners,  it insisted I use random. Okay, I got 1, got 2... and for the third?  It chose me.

Hello, Mr. Rafflecopter. Meet my little friend.

But all's well now. I just had to pick the third by hand.

So the winners are Rachel Cash, Nicole B, and Linda T.

I'll email you ladies, asap.

And if you didn't win, I still hope you'll check LADY OF THE TAROT out. :) It's awesome, but then, I know. I'm biased. *eg*

So what, if any, books did I procure this week?

None. Huh. Was too busy growling at *cough* you know who*cough* to be able to get in there to purchase anything. (Although I did peruse a book at the store that might go on the to be read pile. One Myths of the Greeks and Romans, by Michael Grant. Although the personage I was interested in, I read the entries last night, but it might be nice to have it on the shelf for later reference. Oh! I did pick up FIRES OF VESUVIUS by Mary Beard from the library. Yes, I've already started it,  why do you ask? :)

I did manage to pick up a new tarot deck, too. *rubs hands gleefully* Well, will. I'm waiting for it to come in the mail.

I am about to finish reading a novel I've had on the "slowly picking through" pile. I hope to have a review up sometime soon. I've got, maybe 20 pages to go.

Blogs from the past week...well, I didn't finish the blogs I had in mind, but there were a few:

the post about the Multi-author Book Fair
And I shared the first snippet from my novel Frigga's Lost Army

The others, I'm going to have to schedule for the coming week so be on the look out.

And... I think that's it for me, this week, otherwise it will be Monday before I get this "Sunday" post out! I hope y'all have a good week.

I give up--and a new release. #Sundayblogs #BloggersBlast

Meme hosted by Kimberley of Caffeinated Book reviews

The Sunday Post I meant to write last night and get out? Once again, I was so focused on other things it failed to come out of my brain until this morning. I know I should schedule them in advance but I just never think about it! Which is uber annoying when I want to participate in things that have linky lists that have to be filled out 24 hours (ish) in advance. That's why I haven't done Weekend Writing Warriors in ages. *pout*

If you're a friend of mine on Facebook, this whole last week has had me focused on studying more of that something I mentioned last week and the week before. If you're a friend of mine on Facebook, you've seen the subject come up time and again (*here's an idea Juli. Save the links here instead of on Facebook!). Why yes. Good idea, I'll get right on that.

(Yeah, we'll see if that happens!)

Anyway, two bits of news for you all: I was part of a fun Facebook takeover last week and I want to say again, thanks to all who popped by and to Decadent Kane for inviting me! Generally, I don't care for the vibe of Facebook, but I don't mind the parties. They can be a fun confrontational-free, Politics-free zone in the quagmire that is Facebook.

Two, the giveaway for an audible coupon for Lady of the Tarot, is ...about over. ( I hope the rafflecopter doesn't keel over early, it tends to always thwart me that way.) At any rate, the giveaway doesn't end until the 30th so feel free to pop over and join in, should you wish.

3. I've been wrangling with this all week but it is so importante, I need to stop babbling and say...I HAVE A NEW BOOK OUT!!!

With the recent Photobucket debacle, (pb can bite me), I haven't had a chance to upload the cover everywhere, but it's an historical fantasy and the story goes a little something like this:

FRIGGA'S LOST ARMY.

Synopsis:

In the winter of 1943, Benjamin is just a grunt and Army cook—until he finds himself captured, along with his unit, taken prisoner by Mussolini's troops after the Battle of Tunisia.

Transported to a POW camp in Italy, Benjamin is plagued with intense visions of the Norse Goddess Frigga and her retinue of Valkyries, berserkers, and other magical beings.

When he encounters a woman bearing an uncanny resemblance to the goddess, he wonders if he hasn’t been entangled in a battle between the natural and the supernatural—a battle for the present and the future.

Amazon Button (via NiftyButtons.com)

Of course, it's available Amazon for your purchasing and/or Kindle Unlimited borrowing pleasure. It's also in paperback, if you'd like a physical copy. :) And you can read a sample here.
Amazon's still settling things as far as the keywords and shit goes. It's a 52,000+ word novel, I guess some choking is expected. (Don't ask me how Amazon calculates things, no one seems to know)

Anyway, as to the story, a load of research went into FLA to get Benjamin's life as a PoW correct. (The book has been in the works for several years, if I can confess the truth!). Don't ask me why World War 2. When this book emerged, Frigga herself showed up and said "Hey, this is set in World War 2". Who was I to argue?

(What if I did argue? EEP! It doesn't bear thinking about, does it?)

Some part of it ended up--at the tippy tail end of producing said-book--sending me right back into research mode. Surprisingly, into Hellenistic (and earlier) era Pompeiian art, life, destruction (ye gods!!) , since Vesuvius is somewhat within eyeball distance of the area in which the book's set (and there was an eruption at the time! Around the time... I couldn't resist)

Par for the course for me, the myths and gods of the surrounding area. Yeah, not Frigga (although lots and lots and lots was done there while I worked on the story) but Italio-Roman pantheons.

You'll see very little of them in the book, however. I think it might come out in something later. What, I haven't formulated yet, so we shall see. Stay tuned. Is okay, really. My family originated in the Naples area so I'm not surprised in the least. The Roman gods have poked their heads in from time to time, throughout my pagan life. Too much information to process all at once?

Try being in my head this past few weeks! Oy, anybody got some xanax and a straight jacket handy?
But for my pagan readers, oh yes, if you enjoyed the Celtic Stewards Chronicles, or Lady of the Tarot, a similar feel and themes can be found here as well. I believe you'll enjoy this book! (I hope. *fingers crossed*)

And speaking of Celtic Stewards Chronicles, I have it back! So, work will commence on the final phase of book 3, and we'll get rolling along on releasing it. :) Also, my next audiobook is almost finished. I think. *knock on wood* So stay tuned for those.

Fourth. Photobucket debacle! They sprang the news, this week that they'd decided to just drop out all our linked images, after what? 15 years? I've not had chance to reclaim and reload many of the zillions of blog guest post images, and quite frankly we are talking ...maybe more like hundreds, so many I'm not certain Blogger will be able to handle them and I'm not sure where to dump them all. So for quite awhile,  you'll see in holes in older posts. I'm only one woman and I have books to write and edit along with maintaining this blog, so I don't know how long fixes will take. Please excuse broken imagery.

Fifth: A fun thing! I have something scheduled for this week on the blog, that this post ended up too long to include. C'est la Vie. But be on the look out for that. :)

Phew! I think that's everything.

Posts from last week

The Clean Indie Reads sale post (which, the sale is over now but you can still check out the great books)

And the Cimmeran Shade release party details (also over, but do check out Cimmeran Shade)

Books purchased the last week (ish).

The Iron Wyrm Affair (Bannon and Clare Book 1)  by Lilith Saintcrow
and
Son of a Duke (The Spy Series Book 1) by Jessie Clever
and Imogene (Imogene Farrell Book 1) by Eliza Lloyd (which, reader advisory, is a little more an erotic romance, I hear tell, than some might be used to seeing me post here, lately. Just so you know. The story looked very interesting though, so I added it to the tbr list! :))

Anyway, that's me for this week. I hope you enjoy my new novel Frigga's Lost Army.  Good morning, all. Have a great day!

Sunday--where is my transporter? #authorblogs #SundayBlogShare #BloggersBlast

Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Here we are, Sunday again, and I do hope y'all are having a good one. Life has been...well, the usual, these days. Mostly staying inside away from the heat. Reading. I'm partially done with an audiobook I've been chunking away at. I did some work on some guest posts (one up today here at Romance Lives Forever, and one Friday at vvb32Reads, if you'd like to see them.) I've also finished the next stage of revising my next book.

There are even thoughts of the next one. :)

This week saw the Summer Solstice, of course. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to Stonehenge again this year, like some of my blogging friends. Alas, that dream still remains unfulfilled (where is my transporter, damn it!)

I forget if I mentioned this here, did I tell y'all I bundled Reign of Tarot? Yes, aside from now having the nifty cool audiobook of Lady of the Tarot, now that the series (duology) is finished, I've made a box set. If you'd like to get both REIGN OF TAROT books for the price of one, you can find it at Amazon.

What else did I do this week? Well, I got a book or two.

On the fiction side:

Thief's Blade by C. Greenwood,
Changeling: An Appalachian Magic Novel Book 2 (Appalachian Magic Series) by Debbie Herbert
Nefertiti's Heart (The Artifact Hunters Book 1) by A. W. Exley

and a few non-fiction titles:  Buried Cities, Complete Pompeii, Olympia, Mycenae by Jennie Hall. It's an old one, but if you read my posts from the last week, its subject has piqued my interest.

Nothing too exciting (depending on your point of view) ;).

Also Gods of Stonehenge by J.P. Reedman

Are we sensing a theme here? I wish I had a transporter, I'd probably be here and there and all over the place, every single week.

But oh no!

Here we are in futuristic 2017 and we have no bloody transporters! Come on, science people! You've had fifty-three years to work the problem. It's time to catch up with the science fiction writers.;)

(We'll get there. According to this, we are.) I would just prefer it to, you know, flying. Of course, there is the danger that if I do go to, oh, Naples, Pompeii, Ireland, or Stonehenge, my husband might have a hell of a time getting me to come back! ;)

Anyway!

Posts from last week.
A dandy new review for House of Dark Envy that I had to post about here.
My 3 greatest strengths/weaknesses/doubts
Summer Solstice
Oh and I posted a review for my last read on my book blog for A Victorian Grimoire by Patricia Telesco.

Anyway, that's been my week. This week I've got some posts scheduled up as I'll be hunkering down doing final work on the book. Yes, that's right, the new book will be coming soon! By next Sunday, even, if all goes well.
I even have a cover to show you. *rubs hands gleefully* Stay tuned!

And, in order to link on those two sites, here's a picture (are we sick of silly pictures yet? Although, I have to admit, thus coffee cup by kaboompics.com is cute. ;)):

Have a good week, y'all!

New Release--my first #Audible Audiobook #authorrt #Sundayblogs

Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Just a quick note this Sunday to let y'all know, one of the things I've been working on this year has finally come out. Thanks to the wonderful talent of narrator Christina Marie Morris, my Gothic paranormal romance novel Lady of the Tarot is now available in  audiobook! Yaaaa!!

If you'd like to hear a sample, you may do so with the player below:

If you'd like to purchase your own copy, the audiobook is available through Audible, Itunes, and  Amazon. Enjoy!

And please, if you enjoy it, please leave a review.

So, yeah, that's what I did this week. :)  Also, working, as ever on new stuff for your reading pleasure. We did some work in the yard, just clean up. I think my husband and I got out of it without triggering the allergies this time! ;)  So, that's what I did this week.

No photos really to show you.  But I did pick up one book this week:
Love, Lies, and Hocus Pocus: Beginnings (The Lily Singer Adventures, Book 1)

Blogposts from the past week.

Just one. Beltane 2017.

That other new book (WIP) I mentioned, in the last few weeks? Yeah, it's coming. Stay tuned! But in the meantime, I hope you enjoy Lady of the Tarot.

Exciting week of reading and research...

Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Happy Sunday morning.  I hope you had a good week. We did here. I spent most of it with my nose in a book as I had one I wanted to finish. Title? Grace Unleashed by Suzanne G. Rogers. In a nutshell, I enjoyed it. :) You can see my review for it here. I haven't decided yet if changing the tags on that one from S.G. Rogers to Suzanne G. Rogers will muck anything up, so I haven't tried it. Wordpress being a somewhat different animal than, well, most static sites, I don't know. So you'll find all her books I mention under the older version of her name there. (Had an interesting conversation with her regarding our shared influences. :) Enjoyed that very much and yes, added a few names to my to be read list. I'm never going to get through that thing, am I?)

Other than that... herm. We got, and have been binge watching, Rogue One. Gods, I really, really love that movie.  I still think, had that one, and/or Force Awakens, come out in the 70s, I would've been a much bigger Star Wars fan.

Really, there's not much to report. Oh!  I finished off a novella and sent it off for one final polish read. And we do have a title....*drum roll please* Frigga Lost Army.

That should be releasing, erm, soon. I hope to have it back before the end of April, so probably not too long after that. Early May? Depends on my final reader and what she finds. So, stay tuned. I'll keep you posted.

On other writing news
(I told you I didn't do much this week that's exciting!) I've also been doing some research reading for a book I'm currently in the early plodding/plotting out stages. Hope to get that done sometime this year. We'll see. It's looking like it's going to be another that's going to make me pull its teeth. And I signed on for Camp Nanowrimo in hopes of finishing one other that's ... about 60% of the way there. We'll see which of these two end up getting how far through this month.

Posts that I've done in the last few weeks:
 Yeesh! My common Writing Mistakes.
Good Titles are Hard Magic
Bloggeista Fail

Books I've picked up.
I've been having a little trouble with my old Kindle lately and it's been giving me fits! For one thing, I can't delete anything from the damned thing. I've complained to Kindle about this; they basically said, "Get a new Kindle" and "Tough s--". :p Not good for business, y'all! So, if you're having trouble deleting something, um... I haven't come up with a solution. Light a candle at the new moon, jump up and down like the Easter bunny, three times, in a circle? *shrugs* I don't know. But I'm in the market for a new one because, even though it can hold a ton of stuff, you know, I use it for my business and I'd like it to work the way it used to. (That's the goal right now for my Patreon too, actually, if you'd like to support it.)

Ahem. Rant over. Anyway, so I haven't been trawling Amazon much. However, I did pick up:
Winner Takes All by Meg Mims (personal purchase)
Daughter of Chaos (Red Magic book 1) by Jen McConnel (freebie)
The Secret of Isobel Key by Jen McConnel (personal purchase)
both these looked very interesting, as much so as their author. :) It's nice to find new-to-me pagan fiction authors now and then.

Star King by Susan Grant
Star Princess by Susan Grant (still free)
A Knight's Temptation by Catherine Keane
(These last three were free, for some reason, at Amazon this week--Star King and Knight's Temptation are no longer free. And I see more and more authors are giving away middle stories. Did I start a trend? ;))

Also, the audiobook to Larken by Suzanne G. Rogers.

Okay, maybe I have been on the Kindle more than I thought. Anyway, so that's what I got.  Adding to the ever-growing pile.

And yes, the title of this post is ironic. The stories I've been reading are exciting, but sitting butt in chair reading and typing away? Not so much. But it is part of my writing life, and y'all know how much I love that!So how was your week?

Sunday morning March 26: Bloggeista fail. #amwriting #blogs #BloggersBlast #SundayBlogShare

blog banner, Sunday Post blog banner, author Juli D. Revezzo's blog, paranormal romance author, fantasy author, pagan paranormal author

Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Good morning, all. How are you? I'm just up, but thinking about...stuff. Thunder Brain, a friend of mine calls it. I've been having dreams of some lost family members this week. Very strange. (Strange that it happened more than once, not strange dreams.) I don't know what they mean except that the boys are checking in on me, but it's always welcome.

All right, for my non-pagan readers, I think that's all the woo stuff right now (I don't know about you, but I just discovered that word "woo-woo", via the tarot blog/youtube community, and I kind of like it).

So, what did y'all do this week? I tried to participate in Bloggeista, but didn't get as much done as I'd hoped. Though, in my defense, I did look at the behind the scenes things that were bothering me (didn't find my solution yet, but I'm working on it) and I made a comment or two on the Twitter chat. So there is a little half tick on the list.

I also had some pictures on the camera that I meant to, well, get off the camera and haven't done that yet either. What's keeping me from all this? Well, I have something important to get out to a *cough* audiobook editor *cough 😇* so my computer time went to that. (Stay tuned [via my mailing list, here, or you can follow me at Amazon] or stay tuned to the blog or my site.). More on *cough*audiobook*cough* in the near future!)

I had lunch with my writing ladies, too, and that's always something I look forward to. We plan and plot a lot, and that's always fun. It's nice to get into a new environment every once in a while, too. Shakes the cobwebs out of ye ole brain, don't you know! 😉

The rest of the week was filled up with, you guessed it, working on writing and of course, mucking around on Twitter. I'm just about ready to send a certain other story off to a last *fingers crossed* polish reader, so we'll see. I would've done it already but that Thunder Brain of mine decided, "Wait!! do this first". *sigh* Oh well. Now, we wait and work on something else. Again, more on that soon.

What'd I read this week?
Progressed in Rules for a Proper Governess by Jennifer Ashley and Grace Unbound by Suzanne G. Rogers. Finished a book on Social Media. Didn't think much of that one, oh well.

Also, if you missed it, here's what I blogged about this week:
How my family deals with my writing.
Yeah, a whole lot, I know. Maybe next week will be better.

So that's been my week! How was yours? Good, I hope. Now, please excuse me, won't you?  I need to get some more coffee, and try to schedule up some posts. :)

Springish Sunday Morning! #Sundayblogshare

Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I hope y'all had a good week. I did. Let's see this week--or at least this morning, my internet, for some reason, is very slow. I hope I can get this posted sooner or later... (Whoohoo, scheduling!)

For the rest of the week, I got a lot of editing done, so something new will be coming along. I've debated having a cover/synopsis reveal. In theory, they're supposed to create buzz. In experience?

I've never seen that work out. At least not for me. Suffice it to say, something new will be coming...I mentioned before I am ahead of schedule, but we will just see. I have always made plans in the past only to see them derailed. (I could tell you about a massive storm the weekend of my wedding...)

There was also a little jaunt to the Renaissance fair.I don't have those pics organized yet, but remind me, and I may show you one or two. :)

*hangs head* Despite what I said yesterday, I've not had a chance to finish/review the book I've been reading. But if all goes well, that will be on the slab for this week.

(a little morbid humor there for your Sunday morning. :) Sorry about that!)

I'm actually behind schedule today, so I have to make this short and wish y'all a good Sunday!
So, what have y'all been doing?

Lots of reading this week--#amwriting #amreading #Sundayblogshare

Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Ugh, it's another week gone by. I hope you all had a good one. I did. I was a little indecisive, the first half of the week, so I can't say I got much more done than knitting and reading. But that counts, right? After that, an idea popped into my head that I started, and a day later, I got a proof copy of a forthcoming novel I've been waiting for. It's a Victorian Romance I've been working on (that is, something like my novel Watchmaker's Heart).

A little sneak peek:
cover page by Juli D. Revezzo

But that's it. *evil smile* Nope! You'll have to wait for more. I can say, the cover is so pretty! Wait 'til you see! :) More on that soon. I hope/plan to have it out (I hate saying so before I know for sure that it's about to hit Amazon but)...I plan/hope to have it available by/before the end of the month. *fingers crossed*

So, naturally, that has had to take precedence.
Yes, I resemble this, a bit:

Please excuse the gif, (and apologies to Big Bang Theory for the *cough* copyrighted image borrow. I found it on the web and it just seems so appropriate).

But you know what? Work and writing needs doing, so, this is my daily mantra:

don't stop when you're tired meme

It must have something to do with the recent full moon because I've just felt I need to get sss...tuff done, you know? (Did y'all get to see the eclipse? We did not, here. A) the weatherman said we wouldn't be able to, and B) I was sucked into a movie and didn't get outside.)

For rest of what we might call "downtime" (er, before the proof copy came in), I've been doing some mindless knitting (can you believe she said mindless knitting? She must be making progress! :)) My latest project (the Dropped and Found wrap) isn't much to show, right yet. It's mainly garter stitch for 16 miles (j/k) and I've only got 12 inches done. It gets interesting/scary when I'm done with the garter stitch. One word (okay, two): Dropped Stitches. Deliberately dropped. *bites nails nervously* But as there's a ways to go, I have time to psych myself up for the dropping!

It's been getting warm here, again, (naturally) so this will be another I'll be utilizing mostly indoors. Yes, warm. My Easter Lilies are so confused, they've already bloomed. Also, if you follow my Instagram account you know this. A couple weeks ago, my dh popped some rotten potatoes into a flower pot. Wouldn't you know it, the darned things have grown. They're doing better than the majority of my flowers I fuss over! :)

Isn't that just typical? But since it's getting warm again, I look forward to replenishing the flowers this spring. We shall see if I don't kill 'em all before summer. *lol*

On the Juli's other books front:

I'm still waiting for Murder Upon a Midnight Clear to show up at Itunes (*taps nails impatiently* Ye gods, I've never known them to be this fussy and slow!) but it's now finally available at Kobo (and of course Amazon and Barnes and Noble), so Itunes users, if you want it now *g* see Smashwords. Or I'll just let you know when Itunes finally lists it).

On the reading front:

I finished the audiobook of Kitty Takes a Vacation, (and enjoyed it very much!). There's a review of it up over on my book blog. If you'd like to see it, it's here. Since then, I've been reading Staurolite by Marsha A. Moore.

Other books I picked up this week:

Valentine Bride by Shanna Hatfield

Dragon Destiny (Drashi Chronicles Book 1) by Helen Henderson

Awaken by G.R. Thomas

and

Origins: A Paranormal Thriller (Cassie Reynold Psychic Thriller Book 1) by Eric Drouant

Blogs of the week.
Not too many. Like I said, I was concentrating on fiction. :) Oh, actually? Just the one:
New on the MP3 Player this week
unless, of course, you count last Sunday's Sunday post

Oh! Upcoming: actually, later this month but still... look for me in the Women in Horror blog hop. :) I'll let you know when and where. :)

Anyway, I can't think of anything else that's happened this week. :) I hope y'all had a good one and if I don't talk to you again before then, happy Valentine's day!

Sunday Update, books. #amreading #amwriting #Sundayblogshare

Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

This Sunday, in life and books. (because, what else is there?) There's some sort of sports thing going on tonight, but, *sheepish grin* we're more bookworms, around here.

I've been busy with a new book (see below "On the Business Side") and between all that revising, formatting, and so forth, I've finished listening to Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews, and begun the audiobook of Kitty Takes a Holiday by Carrie Vaughn. Enjoyed Magic Burns, am enjoying Kitty Takes a Holiday. I've been keeping lists of my read books for years and, as I looked back, it seems there've been years since I read the previous Kitty book. *hangs head* I suck, I know. But real life happens, and I've read a ton of other (and indie) books since then. So, there. What about KTaH? I'm enjoying it so far. (Good Reads says I'm behind on my challenge, but you know? Screw them). I'm kinda curious as to why Vaughn isn't writing the Kitty series, anymore. But as a writer who knows my fans are probably wondering why I jump genres around a lot myself, and just as the writer who does it, I get it.

I also picked up one more book this week (see? It's a sickness).
A Kiss to Remember by Teresa Medeiros

I've had Medeiros on my want to check out pile for a while (*ducks flying tomatoes from the horror/Caitlin fans) but I've never gotten to it. No....Now that I think about it, I take it back. I read Breath of Magic years ago. (Sorry. Needed a little more coffee to remember that). I seem to recall I wish the hero had been dragged into the heroine's world, rather than the other way around.

On the business side.
This week has been a productive one for me. I finished the next round of edits on a particular book I'm hoping to get out here, sometime soon. What's it about? Well... I can't really share much until I go over the proof, but it's set in the Victorian age and will see our hero and heroine coming to terms with their past.  So, fans of my Victorians, you'll have something new, pretty soon. :) Stay tooned. (Yes, I deliberately misspelled that in order to be funny. Don't panic, fellow editing nerds). For my fellow horror/dark fantasy/Caitlin fans, she's going well too, and I (hate to say too much about this, at this stage, but) I started working on a little something extra this weekend, something very creepy. *insert evil author laugh*

Also: I managed to get my paranormal romantic mystery Murder Upon a Midnight Clear up at Barnes and Noble, and Smashwords. And then Barnes and Noble hiccupped for a day, and then it came back. I'll never know if it was just me, or the whole web, because, scanning social media (which I do, far, far, too much--to little effect, fellow marketeers) no one else seemed to notice. Anyway, as yet, it hasn't shown up at Kobo and Itunes, but I figure it should any day now. :p For now, if you'd like it in any of those formats, please visit to Smashwords.

Around all that, I did a little behind-the-blog scenes planning, here. I almost made a vlog out of this post but thought, Nah, don't wanna scare y'all away with my ugly pre-coffee face. ;) I also decided that these Sunday Post tags are getting so crowded *g* that instead of picking and choosing among a few to set up as "related posts"...well, see below.

Another week gone--Sunday blog post 16: #SundayBlogShare #weeklyrecap

Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

And I can't believe January is almost over.  How are y'all this fine Sunday? I'm doing fine. Got some stuff back from my editor last night that I hope to tackle this week. So, who knows what this week will look like except more reading, thinking, typing.

On the reading front, I'm about 3/4 of the way done with an audiobook I was able to get my hands on. MAGIC BURNS by Ilona Andrews. I loved the first one, but I've been trying to get to this one for... well? About two years. When I saw my library had the audiobook, I thought it was high time to get it and get the thing off my to be read list! If it stays chilly enough this week, I can see it happening. Might even actually get a review of it up (on my reading blog), who knows? The short version of the "not quite finished with it" impression is that I'm enjoying it. Well... Kate is dealing with Celtic gods (and pagan friends, so far, IA handles them well *knock on wood*). Need I gush more?

I don't have too many plans this week other than that. With Imbolc just around the corner, I look forward to getting into the garden; maybe just not today, specifically (because... brrr! It's chilly, today!). But I have a plan for it this year. :) Not holding my breath, but we'll see.

Blog posts from this week:
Happy birthday, Virginia Woolf
I hate to rehash this one, and sound like I'm harping,  but it is out there so... A lesson in keeping a customer happy. #UnnecessaryWaste
I thought I had one more, but, looking back, I see I didn't actually finish and post it.Whoops! So, maybe (maybe) that will be up this week.

Upcoming this week: A guest post by fantasy author Marsha A. Moore.

Books acquired: (I shouldn't add more to the list, I really shouldn't!)
Spinster by Suzanne G. Rogers
Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews
Nyssa Glass and the Caper Crisis  by H.L. Burke
Rules for a Proper Governess by Jennifer Ashley *I didn't know (when I picked this up at the library, yesterday) that this was book 7 in the series until just this moment. *sigh*
The Earl's London Bride by Lauren Royal (*Apparently,  the sweeter [and might I add, slightly shorter] version of one of her other novels.) Different versions of books  by living authors seems to be a thing, now. Me, for the most part, if I've read one I don't generally re-read other versions (Virginia Woolf and Lewis Carroll not withstanding).

Anywho... I think that's it, at the moment. How has your week been?

A lesson in keeping a customer happy. #UnnecessaryWaste

How are y'all doing? Me, I've been busy as usual. Need you ask? Busy with editing and getting a Sooper Sekret project to a beta reader. :) Now that that's off, I'm toying with a few others (including the Nano 2016 project). Right now, I have one mss I hope to get back from an editor the end of the month and plan to get some short stories and stories for my Patreon subscribers out sometime this year. We shall see.

Oh. I know some newsy bit. Now I don't mean for this post or blog to turn into a product review so the names are changed to protect the evil empire, but for several years (I want to say nigh over a decade), dh and I have happily used a a certain filtering water pitcher, for water for cooking, and coffee and tea. Yes, really, it does improve the taste of our city water. Well, as I said, I have used one (actually two) of these pitchers for years with no problem. Last year, the company that makes them got it into their fool heads to "improve " things.  That "improvement" included filters that no longer work well in the pitchers we owned. After a huge effort, we found similar filters, but it turned out, it would take the damned things several hours to completely drain. To the point of where I started filling them before I went to bed.  Cut to two weeks ago, when I got up in the morning with the intention of, as usual, making coffee. Put in the coffee grounds into the coffeemaker, picked up the pitcher, as usual, and poured.

The top popped open and the three inches of water that was still in the reservoir poured out all over me. Yes, very good, next to an electric coffeemaker! Sure, I needed a shower, but I would've preferred not to get it like that!

With much vile cursing, I cleaned up the mess. Luckily, we had that backup pitcher and so I was able to get that pot of coffee percolating. While the coffee brewed I fired off a polite, yet pissed, email to the company about how dumb they were to change their design. Oh sure, they probably gave some ceo's new son-in-law a job, but damn it,don't force your happy customers to change something they're...well, happy with. That's not the way to keep that customer!

How I kept from addressing the email: "Dear Fascist Bully-boys" is anyone's guess.

Grrrrr... So, then we had to go out and spend an arm and a leg on the new "improved" pitcher. :( Happy customer? I'm filling the new pitcher as we speak, so that remains to be seen. At least I can use the old ones to water my plants. *sigh*

Sure, this fiasco happened a few weeks ago, but this post is getting long. I hope I've given y'all a good chuckle, at any rate (*picture Juli as a drowned, very angry little warrior queen*)

(Fangirl points to you if you know where "Dear Fascist Bully-boys" comes from :))

Continuing all the plans...

Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

And the attempts at scheduling failed again. I'm not sweating it, though. There was just a little news to report this week, anyway. I've been working hard on the various fiction projects. All are getting closer. One, I'm still debating some initial details on. Stay tuned.

On the marketing front.... The Antique Magic series is now available for borrowing with KindleUnlimited/Amazon Prime (except for Caitlin's Book of Shadows, which is still permafree).

I also piddled about with my new camera a bit. I've attempted a couple night time photographs, in the last few weeks. Let me tell ya, those things are harder to do than you'd think! On the 10th, we tried several full moon shots. Sad to report, I'd term them a failure, as even though we got one ("we got one!!" *buzzer*), it was too far off to get fully in focus. Still, we managed...

but... we fouled up the camera settings, trying them. Whoops! Never fear, with some calm-headed finagling, I was able to reset it the way it was supposed to be. I have an excuse! This is the first time my husband ever tried to use a digital 35 mm camera. :) Yes, we can totally blame it on him. I let him handle the thing in the dark. *shakes head*

I tried again a few days ago, and it just isn't possible without my tripod, which I didn't have on me, that the time. But I am learning.

On the reading front, I've been in a reading slump, lately. That's about all I can say about that. I blame having stories in my head to get down. I'd like to add some audiobooks to my reading pile, but that's on my list of things I'd like to do this year: up my books read from last year. Until then ... shall we get to the lists?

Books collected this week:

Lament of the Last Goddess by Jolene Dawe
Flash Gold by Lindsay Buroker
Hunted by Lindsay Buroker
Seduction at the Christmas Court by Jenna Jaxon
Liberty Awakened: Isle of Fangs Book 1 by Alicia Dean (Which, actually, I got through an Instafreebie link)
Touchstone of Love  - Beth Barany

Posts from this week:

More posts are forthcoming this week. :) I even have one scheduled up! Go me! So, plans continue. What are you planning for this week?

These early days of the new year

Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

For a quick Sunday post, this week has been busy with revisions and looking over my journals for what I've written up so far this month. Paper journals. I'm already full of plans for ye old books, and happy to report I'm further ahead than I expected to be but then, most of my work was done by new year's eve, so technically, it's just continuing.

I also--unofficially--took a page from Bloggiesta and have pre-scheduled some posts. So, look for those this week, (and coming weeks). If you're a longtime follower of this blog--except for guest posts--you know I usually fly by the seat of my pants (like with this post, *coughcough*) so pre-writing blog posts engages a new thought process for me. I guess trying to plot that Nanowrimo book last November paid off elsewhere. We shall see if I can stick to that.

In between that, I acquired a new camera that I've been learning its ins and outs. If you follow me on Instagram,I'm sure you've seen some of my photographic attempts already. I've been playing with it just on manual--and I'm tickled pink that I now have that option, but! I will say, after years of using a fully automatic point-and-shoot, there's a bit of a learning curve, switching to manual.

But it is a new thing to learn, and ya'll know I like that.

What I'm not sure I can do, blogging about my life being a bit more loosey-goosey,  is make a schedule and stick to it. Sure, there are certain things that fit on certain days; for instance, Music and movie posts seem to naturally fit on Monday, despite the meme title "Shuffle Saturday". They've always been Monday subjects for me, and I'd rather just keep it that way (see "trying to get posts scheduled" above), and naturally, the Sunday Post, will have to stay, well, on Sunday. I've also always liked, when I have them, to host guest authors on Mondays or at latest Wednesdays (preferably Monday, even though it conflicts with Music/Movie Monday). Let's face it, I don't always have anything to say about movies or music once a bloody week. I've been trying to get away from reviewing, altogether, anyway. More time for writing important stuff, like books! :) So...freeform babbling is (trying) to become my new friend. :) But never fear, that schedule will stay the same going forward.

Design.
I would also like to (I know, I know) tweak this bloody boring template a little more. That's going to take some serious looking into code, which takes time away from (see last point) actual writing. We'll see. I was able to tweak the font size (I think?) which has always been too small for my tastes. I hope it helps a bit. There might be a few wonky lines here and there while I figure out what all in the individual posts need fixing thanks to this tweak. (I hate CSS, don't you?!?)

So that's me so far this month. My blogger friends, how are y'all doing with your plans?

Christmas Sunday Update

Sunday Post by Kimba Caffeinated banner
Sunday Post was conceived by Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

This week's been busy, and a tough one. My hubby had the week off so I didn't get much done in the Vlogmas challenge (poor planning on my part, there) but oh well. It's nice having him home. We finished up our Christmas shopping, went out to the park several times, watched a few movies. Might seem boring but that's a good weekend, to us. :) We'd talked about going to see Rogue One again (which we lovedlovedloved!) but alas, it didn't happen. I imagine, when it comes out on DVD, it'll live in our player for quite a while. (yes, if you haven't seen it, it's sssssooooo goood!).

Also baked up the banana bread everyone seems to love around here.

Books I got this week:

The Most Unsuitable Wife by Caroline Clemmons.
A Question of Faith by Nicole Zoltac
Betrayal's Price by Lisa Blackwood
Let it Snow by Erica Ridley
Dissension by K.A. Salidas
Shadow Stalker part 1 by Renee Scattergood

What I read this week:

Finished Kickin' and Dreaming, A story of Heart, Soul and Rock n Roll (aka the Heart biography) by Ann and Nancy Wilson. And if you are a Heart fan and haven't read this book yet, you should! I really enjoyed it. If you aren't a heart fan, oh my! You should check them out. Dreamboat Annie-Bebe Le Strange is a good place to start. ;) Red Velvet Car, Jupiter's Darlin' and Fanatic are great too. Heck, I like almost all of their Discography! :)
Also finished up Laura Strickland's The Tenth Suitor.

I think that was it.I noticed that this year, I didn't quite read as much as last year. So, I hope to do a little more next year! *g* We'll see.

This week's posts:
Vlogmas Attempts
A bit of Flash Fiction for your Christmas reading pleasure
Just a quick note to say...

Since I figure y'all won't be around much to read this update, I'll stop now. I hope y'all have a lovely holiday!
