Meanwhile, I contacted all my winners of the Magickal Samhain giveaway. Yep, busy.
Also this week...because I was crunching that "no way I'm going to get it out this year" project, to the tune of taking a night off for shoulder pain, (8,000 typed words in one week!) I used that time to experiment with writing on the phone. Verdict? It will work in a pinch, if I'm not home, but I don't get as much done as I do when I'm in front of the computer.
And I finished knitting a headband (this one) for a Christmas present that's currently in the blocking stage.
I also squeezed in some reading, a little bit in two different books. I'm so close to the beginning of those, though...I'm not ready to say anything about what they are. Hopefully, I'll let you know soon.
On the new pile, I found some exciting things at the bookstore (well, exciting to me). Did y'all know Michael Moorcock had a new comic out? (*pause and insert omgomgomg!fangirl squee here*) I knew it was in the works, I'd just never seen it...until yesterday. I found three of them (I think they're compilations of the entire 12 issue comics) at the store: Elric: The Balance Lost, vol. 1, vol.2, and 3. YAAAAA!! It's another of his Elric-crosses-with-Von Bek-and-Corum tales. :) I'm almost finished with City in the Autumn Stars but no doubt I'll be diving into Balance Lost really soon.
Posts from this past week.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Comic Book/fantasy novel/Movie/TV Villians

Let's see....
1.Captain Videl (from Pan's Labyrinth. For cruelty, he's the worst! No matter how many times I see that movie, and know how it will end, I want him to cut his own throat before we get there. I don't like suicide scenes at all; for Videl, I'd make an exception.)
2. There's Mr. Gold (AKA Rumplestiltskin) from Once Upon a Time.
Although, really, he started out bad and got better as the series has gone on.
3. The Balrog from Lord of the Rings, (because hey, fiery beast.)
4. Saruman (Christopher Lee did such a good job with this character!)
5.Mordred. (Okay, he's his mother's pawn, in the King Arthur Legends but he is the one responsible for Arthur's death. he could do something radical, like say no to the plan, after all. But then he wouldn't be a bad guy.)
6. Darth Vader! (Before the Prequels)
7. Khan Noonien Singh (The Wrath of Khan is his finest moment, I think)

9.Yyrkoon, from Michael Moorcock's Elric series. Because (like #10 below) he's a narcissistic ass who really, really, needs Elric to wipe the smug smile off his face. I mean, come on? He makes pacts with evil, lusts after his own sister, and wants Elric dead. Hate him. Don't want to kill him, like the gal below, but yes, I think he belongs here.
10. Glenin from Melanie Rawn's fantasy novel, Ruins of Ambrai. OMG, I
wanted to kill that narcissistic, infuriating woman (er, character)
starting about 1/3 of the way into the first book. And what she did, in
the end? I won't give you spoilers, but I have to say that b*** (the
character, not the author!) is the reason I got serious about my own
writing. I wanted to kill her, repeatedly! *lol* She's just...bleh! Even years later I still get furious just thinking about her. Loved the rest of the
books; they would've been better if Sarra had stabbed her in the eye
(repeatedly. Every chapter).
:) Sorry, Melanie.
:) Sorry, Melanie.
So, that's my list. Do you agree with any of these? Disagree? (*braces self for Glenin discussion*) Who's on your lists?
Oh! Also, if you're interested, I made a quick list of some of my favorite comic book villains. You can see it here.

New dark fantasy (horror) novelette
Juli D. RevezzoSeptember 15, 2015#ebooks, #newrelease, dark, dark fantasy, gothic, new releases, supernatural suspense
4 comments

I hope you're having a good day. I am so far! Our weather here is cooling down, but nonetheless, my creativity is not (are you shocked?). So I wanted to let y'all know I have a new story for you. Every once in a while, I just get a hankering to write a little darker than the paranormal romance stories I have on offer. This one is specifically for those of you who enjoy my dark stories.
Bicycle Requiem is a little novelette of roughly 9,000 words. and while a shorter version of the story was first published in the zine Twisted Dreams, with getting my rights back and the time that has passed since its publication, I expanded and updated it.If you'd like a little taste, its synopsis is:
On the way home from a draining night of work, Theodora (called Teddy by her friends) finds herself guilty of something she'd never dreamed: a hit and run that results in a child's death.
Wracked with guilt, Teddy hides her secret, carrying on as if nothing happened, but when the victim's zombie returns, bringing along her own kind of disturbing justice, Teddy learns innocent little Mara isn't exactly what she seemed.
And Teddy wonders, would jail be better than eternity with the vengeful girl's accusing spectre.
Is it a small price to pay--and for what?
Legend has it that zombies are mindless creatures, Mara doesn't quite seem so. Well, you'll have to read to see what she's got in store for poor Teddy!
Amazon's Look Inside feature isn't up, as yet, but it should be soon. Anyway, if you'd like to check it out, Bicycle Requiem is now available at Amazon (and Amazon UK) and Smashwords.
I like writing dark, sometimes, what can I say. :) Some might even call this horror (or just dark fantasy) One more thing, if you are a fan of the Antique Magic series, you'll find a little tidbit surprise inside Teddy and Mara's story. :)
Oh, and before I forget. Big thanks to Zeke for proofreading through this one!
Enjoy and have a nice, and spooky, day!
best spooky wishes,
Juli D. Revezzo

Juli D. RevezzoNovember 28, 2014dark fantasy, mystery, new adult, paranormal, Romance, Romantic Suspense, sale
No comments

Doesn't everyone love unwrapping gifts for Christmas/Yule? Well, I do. I thought then, I'd give you all who like it too a little treat. For Black Friday, the paperbacks of select titles of my body of work will be on sale.
'Tis the season ... for death. Murder reminds Detective Helene Collias of Holly PD that crime doesn't respect holidays. And the last victim she ever expected to find in her case files is the sister of her old flame, Sean Grant. Ordinarily, Helene's psychic gifts give her an edge but this time, that gift has short-circuited. Could her lingering attraction to Sean be blurring her abilities, or is something more sinister at work?
This one is...well, a little higher on the heat scale than my other books. If you'd like it, it's available at Amazon.

Worse, she definitely doesn’t need an attractive mortal man distracting her from her duties. Of course, needs and wants are two different things.
Briak has had his eye on Ianthe for a very, very long time, but he’s been waiting for just the right moment to make his move. Despite the fact all hell’s about to break loose on his watch...
List Price: $9.50

You can get it at Amazon.
And finally, my Celtic flavored paranormal romance, PASSION'S SACRED DANCE.
Synopsis:
Unless Stacy Macken can stave off her creditors, she may lose her renowned history center. Yet she knows in her heart that the center is sacred and what a catastrophe losing it would be. How much of a catastrophe, she hasn't a clue. Until Aaron Fielding arrives with his tales of magical guardians and the Tuatha dé Danann, sworn warriors from Celtic legend who protect humanity from a wicked enemy seeking their destruction. Is the end of the world imminent? What can she, a modern woman and her warrior lover, possibly have to offer when a long-prophesied druidic mythic battle explodes around them?
Bonus: Includes brand new flash fiction piece, "About A Warrior" You can get it here.

Hi, Everyone. I love this time of year don't you? Everything that can be whacky, will. Hubby's car didn't start first thing yesterday morning and there I am out in my jammies wanting to drive a stake through the engine--I mean, helping. At least it wasn't so freakin' humid.

Can he answer the hag’s riddles and thwart his fate, one worse than the guillotine?
It's available now at Amazon for you Kindle fans and Smashwords for $.99. A little dark, paranormal fantasy, with a historical twist. Posting everywhere and sundry, I know but...
For those that don't know..... I'm excited to announce my lil ole first novel is up live, for sale. On Amazon at least. If you'd like to take a peek, it is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Itunes, Smashwords, and Createspace.
Synopsis:
Trevor and Caitlin were once happy newlyweds, profiting from Trevor's art. Until Trevor inherits his brother's house, and with it, his part of an old Welsh family curse. Now, Caitlin will stop at nothing to save her beloved husband from insanity and suicide, even if it means she must embrace her destiny and become a witch.
I hope you will enjoy it!
I'm
waiting for confirmation from Barnes and Noble that the book's gone
live there. Sorry Nook friends, they're a little slower than I expected.
As soon as I have that link, I'll post it for you.
Please, if you know anyone that enjoys paranormal fiction, share the link around. Book Two in the Antique Magic
series will be released soon-like....I don't want to promise a date.
I'm writing fast as I can. I hope before Xmas, but don't quote me on
that. I'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy the story.
