A lucky guy and a poor girl... #8sunday #Medievalromance Weekend Writing Warriors #SundaySnippet

I hope you all had a lovely week--and a fine Imbolc, if you celebrate it (off to see the Groundhog? ;). I've been doing more catching up but I think all's settling back into order. That being the case, I thought I'd take a minute out and toss a post up for this week's Weekend Writing Warriors. Speaking of Imbolc/Groundhog day, I thought this following snippet would be appropriate. Why? It is from my latest historical fantasy romance DRUID WARRIOR PRINCE (the third book in my Celtic Stewards Chronicles), which, incidentally, the climax takes place at Imbolc. However, this scene lands prior to. Herein, our heroine's had a hard day, so in the calm after the storm, she has been relaxing while the hero finished up some loose ends. *turns page*

A hard knock shuddered [Gwenevieve's] door.
She surfaced [from her warm bath] and called out, “A moment, please, Mum. I’m finishing with my bath.”
“You are?” Maedus poked his head through the door. “I’m sorry I missed it. At least, most of it.”
She gasped and draped a towel over her chest. “I thought you were taking Colm home.”
“I did. He doesn’t live but minutes away from you, my lady.” His mustache twitched to the side as he considered her. “Luckily for me.”
